Nicolas Pelzer
Le opere di Pelzer affrontano la presenza fisica e la materialità di uno spazio reale. Considerando la crescente influenza dei nuovi media, soprattutto nel mondo online, che cambia i valori nel mondo reale, le sue installazioni tentano di raggiungere luoghi esistenti e di intervenire nella loro architettura originale.
Il suo linguaggio artistico può essere descritto come “oltre il formale” perché i suoi elementi si riferiscono a forme standardizzate di media come schermi di computer e formati cinematografici o parametri astratti come funzioni esponenziali. L'utilizzo del vetro, uno dei materiali chiave nelle sue installazioni, deriva dalla sua influenza diretta sulla percezione dello spazio da parte degli spettatori e dal suo carattere fisico ma non visibile. Per Pelzer la tensione tra lo spazio e le sue opere è cruciale, perché riflette la relazione tra la realtà e la sua sovrapposizione di mondo immateriale e astratto. Attraverso queste osservazioni Pelzer rivela le attuali strutture per percepire l'aspetto materiale della vita quotidiana.
