Ana Hillar was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, and after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, she moved to Faenza in 1998. Her work, unique in its kind, stems from her interest in continuous research and the sharing of experiences, both in the artistic and human fields.
The research begins with earth as a primordial material—we are made of earth—recognizing in it the ability to convey the very message of the artwork. The choice of a natural material that makes up a large part of the Earth's crust is not accidental; it transports us to its ancient geological origins. Working with earth from different geographies means establishing connections with local traditions, retracing the memory of a place through its material culture.
