Carlo Cossignani’s works are the result of a cerebral and visual layering, a careful observation beyond content that highlights the “waste,” the empty state left beyond the brushstrokes, revealing forms, faces, and bodies. The gaze wanders through various dimensions, delving into the depth of the image, which opens worlds and reflections, becoming multiple, fluid, and undefined. The interpretations overlap, speaking to the viewer about the most intimate and personal aspects.
"The project stems from an evolution of a work I have been developing for some years. I had an obsession with the invisible part and began to explore a series of reflections on the theme of emptiness. This exploration found confirmation in science, which shows that not only did everything originate from a state of void, from zero, but that the void itself has its own substance. The void is the dominant characteristic with which I construct my work, the substance in which the forms of my perception are immersed." — Carlo Cossignani
